2022:
Wachendorff Automation is launching a world first: the WDGN incremental encoder, which can be configured from the user by app (via NFC).

2020:
The IPC product portfolio of Wachendorff Prozesstechnik is supplemented by Box-PCs (March).

Also in March, Wachendorff Automation launches the WDGR series, a family of redundant incremental encoders with diverse sensor technology (optical and magnetic). In combination with corresponding controllers or, for example, speed monitors, high performance levels can be achieved at a reasonable price.

2019:
In September 2019, VISUALYS, a corporate start-up from Wachendorff, becomes active. The core competencies of the young company lie in data VISUalition and data anALYSIS in the IIoT and Industry 4.0 environment.

In August 2019 the foundation stone for a new warehouse will be laid with 600 qm. The Wachendorff Group buys a 8.500 square metre adjoining plot of land to ensure future expansion.

On 25 July we have to bid farewell to our company founder. Rolf Wachendorff dies at the age of 94.

Wachendorff Automation launches a world first: the „Universal Industrial Ethernet encoder“! The required protocol can be loaded just in time; PROFINET and EtherCAT are available for the launch (February).

2018:
Wachendorff is celebrating its 40th anniversary!

Wachendorff Prozesstechnik is cooperating with selected solution providers to implement industry 4.0 projects for its customers.

Numerous new devices with OPC-UA or MQTT interfaces, including IIoT-Gateways, are integrated into the product portfolio.

2017:
The new generation of WDGA absolute encoders from Wachendorff Automation is equipped with the newly developed QuattroMag® technology in the singleturn range.

Available immediately in the production and supply program of Wachendorff Automation: Encoders with industrial Ethernet interfaces; first PROFINET and EtherCAT with others to follow.

Wachendorff Automation is named “Innovator of the Year 2017” by the business magazine brand eins Wissen and the statistical portal Statista in the category “Automation & Measurement Technology, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises up to 250 Employees” for its products and services.

2016:
Wachendorff Prozesstechnik is expanding its product portfolio to include industrial Ethernet components with significantly expanded functionalities, such as Managed Switches, and thus offers solutions for the merging of OT and IT.

Robust industrial Panel PCs are now also an important part of the product range.

2015:
In order to be closer to the customers in the Asian market, Wachendorff Automation (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. is established in China.

2014:
With the programmable fieldbus PIO Wachendorff Prozesstechnik takes on a controller in their product range the first time.

Wachendorff Automation integrates the I / O technology while maintaining the compact design space into an absolute encoder. The world's first WDGA-IO enables machine builders and plant significantly minimize the mounting / wiring.

Wachendorff Elektronik is sold to the TOPCON POSITIONING GROUP.

On 27 June, Germany's most successful ideas factories received the coveted accolade Top 100 innovator again: Wachendorff Automation is among these top innovators.

2012:
In addition to the company's field sales forces, Wachendorff Prozesstechnik  establishes additional expert points of contact to facilitate on-site customer support: Technical distributors.

2011:
Only creative companies with a vision and a sense of innovation can be counted in the ranks of the 100 most innovative SMEs. Wachendorff Automation is one. On 30.06.2011, the patron Lothar Späth presented the “Top 100” seal of approval.

Wachendorff Automation takes pride in its nomination as “Hesse Champion 2011”, the growth and innovation prize of the Hessian Ministry of the Economy and the Hessian Association of Corporate Alliances.

2010:
Wachendorff Automation USA, Inc., headquartered in Chicago, was founded to actively respond to the demand for absolute encoders and measuring systems on the American continent.

2009:
The employees of Wachendorff Automation develop a new manufacturing or assembly philosophy and successfully implement it: LeanQ.

2008:
Wachendorff Automation expands the delivery program to include absolute rotary encoders with patented EnDra® multiturn technology. These products make multiturn absolute encoders more robust, smaller and wear-free.

2007:
Wachendorff as successful innovative company is selected to host an event day within the framework of the programme "365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas".

Wachendorff Prozesstechnik establishes a nationwide German network of so-called system integrators, which establish system solutions with Wachendorff devices and put them into operation.

2006:
Wachendorff wins the Raiffeisen- and Volksbank prize for being the most innovative medium-sized company in Germany.

2005: 
The Wachendorff Group now comprises three companies.

Wachendorff Automation, development and production of rotary encoders and systems.

Wachendorff Prozesstechnik, supplier of automation components for machine and plant engineering.

Wachendorff Elektronik, manufacture of operating devices, mainly for mobile machinery (this division was sold in 2014).

2004:
Wachendorff documents its high standards of quality management and environmental protection with its DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and DIN EN ISO 14001:2005 certifications.

1995:
A further product group was created from a customer requirement:the development and manufacture of rugged automotive operator panels for mobile machines.

1990: 
Wachendorff is moving into the building at Industriestraße 7 in Geisenheim, which will be fully taken over in 2007. 

1989: 
Start of the development and production of incremental optical rotary encoders. 

1985:
His sons Dr. Peter and Robert Wachendorff join the family business.

17.11.1978:
Rolf Wachendorff founds Wachendorff Prozesstechnik and begins importing electronic devices for use in industry.
