Business Development Manager USA

Wachendorff Automation is a family owend mid-size company located in Geisenheim (Germany) which is close to Frankfurt. The company’s focus is the development and production of encoders, motor feedback and complete measuring systems for use in a wide variety of series applications in mechanical and plant engineering. Extensive standard program with numerous options as well as efficient development of customer-specific solutions. Wachendorff Automation has sales offices in the USA and China.
We are hiring for our subsidiary company Wachendorff Automation USA, Inc.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Pro-active processing and further development of the U.S. sales territory
  • Identification of potentials and needs of customers and of new business opportunities
  • Development of sales strategies together with the sales management
  • Cost and price calculation
  • Preparation of offers
  • Active lead and project processing
  • Acquisition of new customers
  • Care of existing customers
  • Expansion of the distribution network and the man-rep network
  • Marketing campaigns
  • Coordination of sales activities
  • Visiting and exhibiting at trade fairs
  • Working with CRM system
  • Reporting key figures to the sales management
  • Travel throughout the territory of the U.S.

Profile, Skills and Qualification:

  • Technical degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is a plus, or alternatively a degree in business is a plus
  • Experience in the automation and motion control industry
  • Ideally knowledge in dealing with distributors and man-reps
  • Ideally knowledge around sensors and their interfaces
  • Recognition of competitor developments
  • Recognition of potentials and trends in the key industries
  • Open-minded and communicative
  • Enthusiastic, assertive and team player
  • High self-motivation and hands-on mentality
  • Knowledge in technical sales and B2B sales desirable
  • Organizational talent
  • Negotiation and decision making skills
